The Winchester 535737294 or Winchester XPR, is a sophisticated advancement in hunting rifles, ideally designed to fulfill the high-performance needs of modern hunters. The XPR is a robust and practical hunk, designed with the intention to ensure a consistent supply of game for your freezer over many years. Its most impressive feature, however, is that it carries the enduring quality that Winchester Repeating Arms is known for.
The centerpiece of every XPR rifle is Winchester's M.O.A. Trigger System. Every single internal component, including the trigger housing in the M.O.A trigger, is made of polished and carbon hardened steel, all dressed in a blue finish to enhance durability and resist corrosion. Moreover, it boasts a conveniently located two-position safety, operable with your firing hand's thumb.
The safety button is located just before the bolt release button, letting you shuffle through unfired cartridges even when safety is activated. The rifle's cocked/uncocked condition is visually and physically perceived through the cocking indicator on the bolt shroud.
The sturdy XPR bolt is meticulously crafted from chromoly steel barstock, and is hardened throughout its heat-treatment process. This bolt design is equipped with three front locking lugs and has a short 60-degree lift that helps prevent interference with the scope while cycling. A layer of durable nickel Teflon coating is applied to ensure smooth operation and enhanced resistance to corrosion.
Its one-piece trigger guard combined with the magazine frame design allows generous opening for gloved usage. XPR rifle's chromoly steel barrel is precision engineered with button rifling to assure superior accuracy using various bullet types and weights. Additionally, the barrel is designed to be free-floating to eliminate detrimental pressure points that could potentially affect accuracy.
Further notable features of the XPR include a drilled & tapped chromoly steel receiver, a synthetic stock equipped with an Inflex Technology recoil pad, and a detachable single stack box magazine.
