The Winchester 535720299, also known as the Winchester XPR, is an avant-garde rifle, designed to satisfy the practical requirements of today's hunters. This tough and functional piece of equipment is your reliable partner for hunting, ensuring a steady source of meat for your freezer over the years. Above all, the feature-rich XPR bolt-action rifle upholds the enduring quality that Winchester Repeating Arms is renowned for.
At the heart of every XPR rifle is Winchester's M.O.A. Trigger System. This ingenious mechanism and its components are made of polished, hardened carbon steel with a blued finish, offering superior durability and protection against corrosion. The conveniently positioned two-position safety is easy to manage with your firing hand's thumb. The bolt release button, situated right before the safety button, lets you cycle through unfired cartridges even when the safety is on. The bolt shroud's cocking indicator provides both a visual and a tactile indication of the rifle's cocked/uncocked status.
The sturdy XPR bolt, made from chromoly steel barstock, undergoes through-hardening during heat-treatment. The bolt design features three front locking lugs and a short 60-degree lift for improved scope clearance during cycling. It is coated with resilient nickel Teflon for smooth operation and additional corrosion resistance. The one-piece trigger guard and magazine frame design provide a spacious guard opening compatible with gloves.
The XPR's chromoly steel barrel is meticulously button-rifled for exceptional accuracy with a wide variety of bullet weights and types. This barrel is free-floating to avoid any pressure points that might compromise accuracy. The XPR also includes a drilled & tapped chromoly steel receiver, a synthetic stock with an Inflex Technology recoil pad, and a detachable single stack box magazine. The Compact model comes with a shorter Length of Pull (LOP).
