Its distinctive 3-position safety system, easy to handle with your gun-hand thumb, effectively separates the firing pin from the sear. With a foundation in a solid steel block, the crafted steel receiver flaunts a flat base for increased bedding area. Moreover, it employs a two-part epoxy bedding at the front and rear to enhance stability and precision during firing.
Admired for its classic Controlled Round Feed (CRF) bolt design, the Model 70 includes a significantly large claw extractor ensuring secure handling of about a quarter base of the cartridge. This unique design guides the cartridge faultlessly from the magazine to the chamber, providing an unfaltering grip until the total ejection of the cartridge. Thus, even a cartridge that hasn't been fully chambered can be safely extracted.
The M.O.A. Trigger System, highly regarded as the world's most accurate three-lever trigger system, contributes an elegant finish, improved fitness and enhanced accuracy, complementing its vintage Pre-'64 controlled round feeding. A blade-type ejector is incorporated to provide ultimate control while ejecting a spent case. The additional feature of a free-floating barrel, button-rifled, ensures superior accuracy and durability in every shot.
