The Winchester 535200299 is a revamp of the acclaimed Model 70, which has been the gold standard in bolt-action rifles since 1936. This model retains the celebrated 3-position safety, designed for easy thumb operation to lift the firing pin from the sear.

Constructed with a forged steel receiver from a solid steel block, the flat bottom profile of this receiver provides an expansive surface area for bedding. To ensure stability during firing, it is bedded with dual-part epoxy at the front and back.

The time-honored Controlled Round Feed (CRF) bolt design is integrated into the rifle, featuring a robust claw extractor which efficiently clasps about a quarter of the cartridge base. This enables full command over the cartridge throughout its journey from the magazine to the rifle chamber, maintaining a firm grip until the cartridge is fully ejected. This design also allows for the extraction of an unfired cartridge that is not yet fully chambered.

The M.O.A. Trigger System, the most accurate three-lever trigger system globally, enhances the fit and finish of the rifle, boosting its accuracy. This is bolstered by the classic Pre-'64 controlled round feeding feature. The blade-type ejector provides comprehensive control when ejecting a spent case.
