The Weatherby VMC65PPR4T is one of Weatherby's Vanguard series of rifles, renowned for their sub-MOA (Minute of Angle) accuracy. With the right factory or premium ammunition, these fearsome firearms promise a 3-shot group of .99" or less at 100 yards from a cold barrel.
These rifles come fitted with a match-grade, two-stage trigger that can be calibrated down to 2.5 lbs. There is a 3-position safety system installed that provides the shooter with the freedom to operate the action while maintaining the security of the safety feature. The mechanism of the Vanguard rifles has been exquisitely crafted with a one-piece machined bolt body which is fluted for a reduced weight and bearing surface area, hence ensuring smooth action without any chance of binding.
On the security front, the Vanguard series doesn't disappoint either, with three gas ports that effectively divert high-pressure gases sideways in case of an accidental case rupture. To guarantee reliable and positive extraction, a massive M-16-style extractor is integrated into the design.
Structural integrity is paramount in the Vanguard series. The rifles boast a one-piece machined receiver which comes with an integral recoil lug, guaranteeing immense strength. Adding to the user convenience is a one-piece trigger guard integrated with a hinged floorplate, allowing easy access to the unfired cartridges resting in the magazine.
