The Weatherby MHU05N65RWR4T carries the legacy of the revered Weatherby Mark V platform with an impressive variety of chamberings and an innovatively designed stock. The style and ergonomics of the new Mark V Hunter echo its predecessor, the Mark V Backcountry 2.0 family of rifles introduced earlier in 2021. Its stock made of polymer showcases the same slim, flat-bottomed forend, ambidextrous palm swells, aluminium pillar construction, and is polished off in a captivating Smoke & Burnt Bronze Speckle.
Renowned as the most robust in the world, the Mark V has an exclusive multi-lug bolt system that is a nod to the interrupted thread style of lockup. Offered in both Standard and Magnum action sizes, the Standard incorporates a six lug design, while the robust Magnum opts for nine locking lugs, enabling safe chambering of the most potent commercially-available cartridges prevalent. Additional safety features offered include an encompassing steel ring at the base of the cartridge when it's in battery, a fully-closed bolt shroud, and three gas relief ports in the bolt body to safely vent pressure in case of an ammunition malfunction.
Threaded at 1/228 for compatibility with a suppressor or brake, the Mark V Hunter's barreled action is safeguarded under a Burnt Bronze Cerakote shell offering protection from external elements. The bolt features deep fluting, minimizing weight and reducing the bearing surface within the action for smoother efficacy. An elongated, removable bolt knob provides precise bolt throw and the flexibility to cater to individual shooter preferences.
Offering a diverse range of cartridges, the Mark V Hunter includes both Weatherby Magnum chamberings and traditional American classics. The package is completed with a Burnt Bronze Cerakote finish over the Barrel, Receiver, and #1 & #2 Contour 1/228 Thread Protector and a Graphite Black Cerakote finish on the Bolt, Bolt Knob, and Safety. The innovation doesn't stop there, as it features the brand new Mark V Advanced Polymer stock in a vibrant Smoke & Bronze Speckle.
