The barrel length is 22 inches with a contour #1 and Right Hand 22 Action, along with a twist rate of 1-9. The magazine capacity is 4+1 rounds, featuring a length of pull of 14 inches. Other notable specifications include a drop at comb of .625 inches and a drop at heel of .30 inches.
The new Mark V Hunter introduces a wide array of cartridges to the legendary Weatherby Mark V platform, and is equipped with a newly-designed stock. This new stock mimics the design and ergonomics of the Mark V Backcountry 2.0 rifle series that launched early in 2021. Characteristic features of the Hunter's polymer stock include a flat-bottomed forend, ambidextrous palm swells and aluminum pillar construction, all finished in a striking Granite Speckle.
The Mark V Hunter is threaded 1/228 for compatibility with a suppressor or break. Its barreled action is safeguarded by a Cobalt Cerakote shell to protect from the elements. The deeply-fluted bolt includes a detachable knob. This design not only lessens weight but also assists in clearing dust and debris, facilitating smoother operation.
The Mark V Hunter offers a selection of Weatherby Magnum and classic American chamberings. Aimed to be the most robust action in the world, the Mark V incorporates a unique multi-lug bolt system inspired by the interrupted thread style of lockup. Available in both Standard and Magnum action sizes, the Standard features a six-lug design, while the robust Magnum utilizes nine locking lugs. These features allow the actions to safely house the most potent commercial cartridges. Other safety enhancements include three rings of steel around the cartridge base, a fully enclosed bolt shroud, and three gas relief ports in the bolt body to release pressure in the event of ammunition failure.
The barrel, receiver, and trigger guard are all coated with Cobalt Cerakote. The #1 & #2 Contour 1/228 Thread Protector also adopts the Cobalt Cerakote finish, while the bolt, bolt knob, and safety are coated in Graphite Black Cerakote. The brand-new Mark V Advanced Polymer stock is elegantly finished in Granite Speckle.
