The Weatherby MCB20N65CMR4B is an enhanced version of the revolutionary Backcountry. Introducing the Backcountry 2.0 Carbon, it cleverly integrates Weatherby's highly sought-after tensioned carbon fiber barrel with the enduring steel Weatherby Mark V action, making it very lightweight. Weighing a mere 5.8 lbs, much thanks go to the state-of-the-art Peak 44 Blacktooth stock, which holds the record as the lightest carbon fiber stock in production. The second-generation 3DHEX recoil pad plays a significant role in weight and recoil reduction.
Furthermore, the bold spiral fluting on the bolt body not only allows for a slight decrease in weight, but it also lowers the bearing surface within the action, leading to markedly smoother functionality. The bolt handle is fitted with an extended, skeletonized knob made of light aluminum. Equipped with a titanium version of Weatherby's highly efficient Accubrake ST, the brake is designed to match the profile of the #4 carbon fiber barrel. The 30 evenly spaced ports effectively control recoil, making even magnum chamberings enjoyable to shoot.
