This model is an advanced version of the ground-breaking Backcountry family, known as Backcountry 2.0 Ti. It is built around the extremely lightweight and robust titanium Weatherby Mark V action, with some significant updates. Still equipped with a super-thin and lightweight fluted barrel, it is contoured at a #1 MOD or #2 MOD, depending on the chambering.
One of the major upgrades of Backcountry 2.0 Ti is the new carbon fiber Peak 44 Blacktooth stock. The lightest versions of this upgrade weigh less than 20 ounces. Another eye-catcher is the second-generation 3DHEX recoil pad – the first-ever in production – featuring a 3D printed pad in the firearms world. Hidden inside the pad are a series of interlocking voids that gradually collapse during recoil, helping to dampen the sharp kick of magnum chamberings.
The spiral fluting on the bolt body is more pronounced, thereby reducing weight, bearing surface within the action, and resulting in a smoother function. The newly-threaded bolt handle is equipped with a lightweight aluminum extended and skeletonized knob.
Fitted with Weatherby's highly-effective Accubrake ST, this brake blends to match the muzzle's profile. It includes 30 symmetrically-spaced ports to manage recoil, even in magnum chamberings making the shooting experience pleasurable.
The Backcountry 2.0 Ti's action has a raw titanium look to showcase the precise machining, while the barrel and bolt are sealed under a black ceramic Cerakote shell. To compliment the barreled action, the stock is finished in bare carbon fiber with white and grey pattern creating a camouflage effect.
The exceptional lightness is one of the distinct features of this model. At just 4.7 lbs and 4.9 lbs in magnum chamberings, it is the lightest in the Backcountry 2.0 family. If chambered in 6.5 Weatherby RPM, it holds the title of the lightest/fastest hunting rifle in the market.
It also features a Fluted Barrel, Trigger Guard, Bolt, Bolt Knob, and Safety in Graphite Black Cerakote. The Stock comes in a Peak 44 Blacktooth carbon fiber with Grey and White sponge pattern accents making it visually pleasing.
