The Weatherby MBC20N65CMR4B represents a new era in the evolution of the innovative Backcountry family. This updated Backcountry 2.0 model maintains its base in the reliable steel Weatherby Mark V action, now with notable enhancements. One of the prominent upgrades is the lightweight Peak 44 Blacktooth carbon fiber stock, with its lightest variations weighing in at less than 20 ounces.
The Backcountry 2.0 is distinguished by its 3DHEX recoil pad. Concealed within the pad, a network of interlocking voids incrementally contract during recoil, extending the recoil impulse over time and softening the formidable kickback of magnum chamberings.
The rifle features a lightened fluted barrel incorporated with Weatherby's Accubrake ST. More pronounced spiral fluting on the bolt body doesn't only reduce weight, but also restricts the bearing surface within the action for smoother functioning. The upgraded bolt handle is threaded and fitted with a lightweight aluminum extended and skeletonized knob, for added convenience.
With a primary aim of minimal weight while ensuring phenomenal performance with some of the world's fastest cartridges, the Backcountry 2.0 proves itself a commendable successor in its lineage.
