Weatherby MAX01N653WR8B: The Mark V Apex, an epitome of the high-precision, lightweight hunting range, is built on the legendary Weatherby Mark V steel action and boasts a two-toned cerakoted fluted barrel. The Apex is furnished with the latest vertical grip carbon fiber stock from Peak 44, delivering a lightweight and comfortable marksman's experience.
The Peak 44 Bastion stock, one of the lightest production vertical grip carbon fiber stocks available, weighs a mere 23 ounces. With an ambidextrous palm swell and a pronounced thumb groove, it promotes appropriate shooting form. The forend offers dual swivel studs for flexible accessory attachment. This premium stock facilitates accurate shooting from all positions, whether at the range or in extreme field conditions.
The 3DHEX recoil pad is a noticeable feature, being the first production 3D printed pad in the firearm industry. Concealed inside the pad, a network of interlocking voids collapse progressively during recoil, elongating the time duration of the recoil impulse and dampening the sharp jolt of magnum chamberings. This translates to reduced felt recoil and enhanced downrange precision.
The bolt body showcases spiral fluting, which not only lessens the weight but also minimizes the bearing surface within the action, consequently enabling smoother bolt operation. The Apex is fitted with Weatherby's highly-effective Accubrake ST, which has been crafted to match the muzzle profile. Equipped with 30 evenly-distributed ports, this brake aids in controlling recoil, thus calming even magnum chamberings.
The barrel sports a two-tone look with Coyote Tan Cerakote and Graphite Black. The trigger guard and receiver are also adorned in Coyote Tan Cerakote, while the bolt, bolt knob, and safety feature a Graphite Black Cerakote finish. The stock reveals a carbon fiber build with tan and brown sponge pattern accents for visual flair.
