Weatherby MAX01N303WR8B: Introducing the Mark V Apex, a harmonious marriage of superior long-range accuracy and lightweight hunting convenience. It's built on the legendary Weatherby Mark V steel action and comes with a distinctively fluted, two-toned cerakoted barrel. This model is outfitted with the ultralight Peak 44s Bastion stock, one of the lightest production vertical grip carbon fiber stocks available, weighing a mere 23 ounces.
Designed for comfort, it includes an ambidextrous palm swell and a pronounced thumb groove that encourages correct shooting form. The forend is equipped with dual sling studs for greater choice in accessory attachment. This refreshed stock design empowers shooters to reach optimum accuracy in all shooting positions, whether at the range or braving harsh field conditions.
What sets the Apex apart is the second generation 3DHEX recoil pad - the first 3D printed recoil pad in the firearms industry. Concealed within the pad are interconnected voids programmed to gradually compress during recoil. This expands the time duration of the recoil impulse, dulling the jarring kick of magnum chamberings and reducing felt recoil for greater downrange accuracy.
Further enhancing the Apex's design is the prominent spiral fluting on the bolt body. It helps reduce weight and decrease the bearing surface within the action, leading to a smoother bolt function. It's also fitted with Weatherby's highly effective Accubrake ST, skillfully blended to match the muzzle's profile.
