AUCTION DETAILS: Includes original holster. SHIPS FREE!
Swiss Luger Model 1906, 7.65 Caliber Semi-Auto Pistols, 4.75" Barrel - Manufactured by Waffenfabrik Switzerland - Excellent Surplus Condition, Serial # 27060.
This particular pistol is a 1906 with the skeletonized safety. It has the gold colored accents and a very slight antiqued plum hue to the barrel. Very nice wood checkered grips and the bluing is 95%, plus this Luger features a beautiful stainless mag with bakelite floorplate. It is made by Waffenfabrik Bern with the factory logo and the Swiss cross on the toggle. All other stampings are also intact. There is a little bit of bluing rub about a quarter inch long on the left-hand side of the frame just behind the barrel that is a minor imperfection but otherwise, this is one of the nicest Swiss Lugers I have ever seen. This small spot could easily be touched up with some cold blue if desired but we wouldn't dare do that here. No pitting or rust anywhere. Serial # is 27060 and the images you see in the ad here are pictures of the actual pistol.
Auction items are sold as-is with no returns. Images shown are of the item you will receive.
Those who follow our site know that on rare occasion, maybe twice a year if we are lucky and the stars align just right, we are able to acquire a small group of Swiss Luger pistols directly out of Switzerland. When we are able to procure these pistols we will typically do a video showing the group of pistols, which normally number 20 to 25 pieces, and post them up for sale at noon the following day. Without fail we always sell out in minutes and also without fail we leave more people disappointed at not having been able to purchase one, than those that we are able to satisfy. So many of our loyal customers have asked us to try to find a better way to offer these pistols. Many have stated that they work during the day and have no access to be able to order, and others have said what we already know to be an issue, which is that they just could not get the order processed quickly enough to get a pistol. Believe me we empathize with your plight and we feel your pain. Honestly, the demand is just so much higher than the supply that we have never figured out a way to be fair to everyone in their attempt to get these..... That is until now. While we fully believe in the first come, first serve theory of marketing on these, and will continue to do so in the future if we get more, we have held back a pistol this time to release through our Auction platform. Being as the auction runs over several days, and you can access and bid at any time day or night, this should give everyone an equal chance of buying this pistol. Now about the pistol, not only did we hold back a pistol, we held back a really nice pistol. This particular one is a 1906 with the skeletonized safety. One of the rarest and most desirable of all the Luger model pistols, the Swiss Luger is a Cadillac among handguns. The intricate toggle lock action demonstrates the refined machining and accuracy of German and Swiss firearm manufacturing; the design was revolutionary - among the first semiautomatic designs adopted by a major military. These pistols fire the original 7.65 Parabellum round, also known as .30 Luger or 7.65 x 21mm, rather than the more well-known 9mm Parabellum that would be later adopted. This round is basically a necked down 9mm round that fires a lighter .30 caliber projectile at a flatter trajectory and a higher rate of speed. Privi and Fiocchi continue to produce this round, as do some other manufacturers. This pistol is in outstanding condition!
The Swiss adopted three different versions of the Luger pistol. The M1900 was manufactured by DWM in Germany. The M1906 saw DWM continue to produce pistols but the Swiss began native production at Waffenfabrik Bern, which will be marked "Waffenfabrik Bern" in text on the toggle lock. The M1929 pistols were all Swiss manufactured and show the Swiss cross-in-shield crest.
