AUCTION DETAILS: Serial # 616907 - matching numbers on bolt, magazine and receiver. Medium brown/cinnamon colored stock. Almost no dings or scratches on stock but a sling swivel cutout on the left side has been filled in with some kind of putty. A new sling swivel has been cut on right side of stock. The rifle does come with leather sling. Bluing on receiver, magazine and barrel show almost no wear except very minor wear at crown and some hard edges.
We would consider the rifle Very Good condition, and compared to most K31 better than Very Good. The stocks on most K31, and other Swiss rifles, generally exhibit a higher amount of wear compared to the condition of the rest of the rifle, but this rifle was so unusually nice compared to most that we decided to hold it out for auction.
Swiss K-31 straight pull rifle, 7.5x55 caliber, Good Surplus Condition. C&R Eligible
Auction items are sold as-is with no returns. Images shown are of the item you will receive.
Although the K31 is a straight-pull carbine like many other Swiss rifles, it was not designed by Rudolf Schmidt (1832-1898) as he was not alive to do so. The K31 was a totally new design by Eidgenossische Waffenfabrik in Bern, Switzerland under Colonel Furrer and the gun does not have the Schmidt-designed 1889 or 1896 action. The first 200 K31s were made in May 1931 for troop trials (serials 500,001 - 500,200), thus the model number of 1931.We were out of these for quite some time and just received a small quantity back in. The Swiss never used corrosive ammo and all of the bores I have seen have been exceptional. These rifles combined with the round they fire are well known for being match accurate. Really good surplus is drying up fast so I would encourage you to bid today.
