PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

The Starline Brass Star500SWEUP is an initial run of 500 S&W Mag (R) cases. According to the standards set by Smith & Wesson and Cor-bon, these were developed to utilize large pistol primers. However, specifications underwent a change on July 28, 2003 after an update from Smith & Wesson and Cor-bon. The primer pocket specifications were modified to be large rifle compatible instead.

Rifle primers, maintaining the same diameter as their pistol counterparts, are about .006" taller. This adjustment was put into effect to avert any potential primer piercing from the firing pin when loaded with maximum loads and hefty bullets exceeding 400 grains.
