The Spyderco C89SYL, also known as the Atlantic Salt, is a customized version of the Rescue knife. It's constructed with innovative H1 steel, a precipitation-hardened material that incorporates nitrogen instead of carbon. This unique composition ensures the knife is resistant to rust. A notable feature of it is its hollow ground blade.

To amplify its utility, the handle of the knife is meticulously textured with a distinctive Volcano Grip pattern, promoting firm and comfortable hold.
