The Ruger 40174, also known as the Ruger Mark IV, is uniquely designed with a one-button takedown for straightforward field-stripping and thorough cleaning from chamber to muzzle. With just the press of a recessed button situated at the back of its frame, the upper receiver can be conveniently tilted and removed from the grip frame, eliminating the need for tools.

In addition, the internal cylindrical bolt configuration guarantees lasting alignment between the sight and the barrel. It also boasts of an easily grippable bolt ear and a stylishly designed ejection port that promote reliable and robust operation.

Enhancing its accuracy is a sighting system that comes with a receiver drilled and tapped for Weaver- or Picatinny-style rail compatibility. The Mark IV operates as a single action and is equipped with an ambidextrous manual safety and an ergonomic bolt stop. Its push-button magazine release is ideally situated on the left side for easy access. Each package comes with a washer and two magazines for added value.
