The Eagle is for the hunter who wants a product without limitations. Much like natures eagle, this NiteSite will spot and identify quarry so far away it almost seems unfair. It achieves this using five powerful infrared illuminators (invisible to people and animals) to literally illuminate the target area immediately in front of where the rifle scope is aiming, allowing clear target identification up to 500 metres (550 yards) away. The infrared image is then captured through the rifle scope by a compact digital camera unit attached to the scopes eyepiece and then played back live to the hunter via the units integral 3.5 inch LCD screen. A video out jack enables recording of all night hunting activities.
Like all NiteSite products, the Eagle utilises infrared illumination in a unique way, making it more affordable, reliable and user friendly than traditional light amplification technologies, delivering crisp, ultra-clear night vision, regardless of ambient light conditions.

I first saw this product line at SHOT SHOW. They had a pitch-black booth set up and when they took you inside you literally could not see anything and had to feel your way around. Then, when they turn the Nite Site on, the screen came to life and you could clearly see individual targets set up at the end of the booth. The optics were clear, I liked the fact that you are still using your own scope and that the camera eye was seeing what your own eye would see, and that you did not have to "stay on" your scope to scan the area. Simply stated, I fell in love with this product.
However, I am a born skeptic, and knowing that things can be simulated to put the best spin on a product, I insisted on getting a sample in for a field test. Well, truth be told, we did, and our practical application proved to be just as impressive as before. The unit installs easily, and performs flawlessly. I also love the fact that because you are looking at a video screen, you don't have to worry about proper eye relief or staying hunched over a scope. The screen provides for a much broader range of vision and you can maintain a more stable posture while firing. Our video skills here are pretty rudimentary and would not do this product justice, but if we ever improve, I want to do our own video on these. They work just like the manufacturer's video promo shows. I have used a lot of night sights in the past and always found them both gimmicky and somewhat lacking. These changed my mind.
