Requirements For An EDC Light

There are several features a pistol-mounted light must have to be considered carry-worthy. Look for a light with:

  • 500-1000 Lumens - generally considered the minimum acceptable output for an EDC light
  • High Candela - greater intensity for effective target identification in low light environments
  • Efficient Power Supply - ideally, an EDC light can provide at least 45 minutes of continuous use
  • Streamlined Design - the less bulk the better (controls should still be easy to actuate)

While any of the above choices would function well on an EDC pistol, one light stands out from the rest.
