The Extraction franchise is highly regarded for its impressive cinematography, tight fight scene choreography, and the myriad of awesome firearms used in each film. After enjoying the sequel film, the Classic Firearms team sat down to come up with our list of the top 5 guns used in Extraction 2.

Top 5 Guns Used In Extraction 2

The Top 5 Guns From Extraction 2

Rake (Chris Hemsworth) and his team utilize a variety of small arms on their rescue mission - including rifles, pistols, and machine guns. There are also several improvised weapons handled throughout the film that do not qualify for our list, but were fun to watch on screen nontheless.

5. Taran Tactical V Seven Harbinger (AR-10)

Distinguished from the other rifles by its larger magazine and long barrel, the Taran Tactical V Seven Harbinger is an upgraded AR-10 chambered in .308 Win / 7.62 NATO. It is outfitted with a Leupold LVPO scope, a BCM Gunfighter vertical foregrip, and a SureFire Scoutlight.

The collaboration between Taran Tactical and V Seven produced an incredibly accurate rifle with internal parts that have been enhanced to improve performance and reduce recoil. In the film, the Harbinger features prominently in Vienna when Rake demonstrates just how effective it can be while firing at several Nagazi mercs.

4. Daniel Defense MK18 W/ Noveske Uppers

Nik (Golshifteh Farahani) and Yaz (Adam Bessa) each run Daniel Defense MK18s with Noveske uppers. These rifles are fully kitted out with EOTech holographic sights, magnifiers, foregrips, light / laser modules, QD slings, and Magpul furniture.

Throughout Extraction 2, the siblings deploy their MK18s in a variety of CQB and mid-range engagements while supporting Rake on his mission. Rake also briefly uses a similarly configured MK18 near the climax of the film before switching to his secondary weapon.

3. Agency Arms Glock 19 / Glock 21

Though they are custom-built to look like the same pistol, the Glocks carried by Rake and Nik are actually two different models from Agency Arms. The beefier Glock 21 is carried by Chris Hemsworth, since his character is taller and more muscular, whereas the more compact Glock 19 is carried by the smaller Golshifteh Farahani.

The pistols are fired suppressed and unsuppressed at various points when the team are out of ammunition for their primary weapons. Notably, Rake achieves an impressively smooth quickdraw when firing the Glock 21 at a coffee cup towards the beginning of the film.

2. FN M240 Belt-Fed Machine Gun

The FN M240 machine gun makes a brief appearance during the train scene and is used to quickly shred several pursuing helicopters. Rake even fires the M240 from the hip, making for an awesome high-octane setpiece amidst an already action-packed movie.

Even when used sparingly, the M240 stands out any time it is on screen because it has that undeniable cool factor that many firearms simply do not possess. For this reason, we had to include it in a top spot on our list.

1. Daniel Defense M4 V7

During the prison raid at the start of the film, Rake runs a suppressed Daniel Defense M4 V7 with an EOTech EXPS-3 / magnifier combo, a Modlite weapon light, and a BCM vertical foregrip. He only fires the rifle a few times, mostly using it to ward off groups of encroaching hostile inmates.

Rake loses the rifle during their escape through the yard since he strangely opted not to use a sling for the otherwise decked out DDM4 V7. This does result in some awesome improvised weaponry though, so it's not the end of the world.

Honorable Mentions

After being disarmed of his Daniel Defense M4 V7, Rake goes full-on Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and bludgeons several enemies with a riot shield before using a dumbbell to defend his former sister-in-law in an homage to Season 2 of The Punisher.
