The Swampfox Tomahawk II SFP LPVO

Is The Tomahawk II SFP The Best Intermediate LPVO?

Swampfox is well-known for developing high quality, reasonably priced electronic sights and magnified optics. This year, they're releasing the Tomahawk II SFB Low Power Variable Optic (LPVO), a next-gen second focal plane rifle scope with 1-4x24 or 1-6x24 magnification and green / red illuminated reticles.

Featuring several improvements over the original Tomahawk, the Tomahawk II SFP is designed to meet the rigorous demands of modern precision shooters. These upgrades include a significantly wider field of view, capped windage turret, push / pull locking elevation turret with zero reset, and 12 illumination settings with intermittent on / off position.

A Budget-Friendly Contender

The Tomahawk II SFP offers many quality-of-life enhancements that are typically only found on more expensive magnified optics, such as anti-fog coating and hydrophobic glass coating. Additionally, the Tomahawk II SFP has an IPX7 waterproof rating, so you're good to go regardless of adverse climate or weather conditions.

Swampfox offers models with a BDC reticle or a Bright Fiber Optic (BFO) reticle, both of which are easy to pick up in low-light settings. Even at the highest magnification setting, the Tomahawk II SFP allows for rapid target acquisition at mid to long range and takes a lot of the guesswork out of shooting when properly zeroed.

In terms of adaptability, the intuitive throw lever and illumination settings enable the user to make quick adjustments on the fly as needed. The optic is powered by a side-mounted CR2032 battery, which is simple enough to replace in the field and provides plenty of longevity during extended range sessions.

LPVO, ACOG, Or Red Dot / Magnifier Combo?

In our opinion, the Tomahawk II SFP is a phenomenal value at this price point, as it offers all the features and flexiblity that LPVOs are known for at a fraction of the cost. If you need help deciding between one of the above rifle scopes and an ACOG or red dot / magnifier combo, be sure to watch our video weighing the pros and cons of each optics setup.
