Springfield Armory Echelon Pistol

Springfield Armory Echelon: First Impressions

The Echelon ships with two magazines (one 17-round mag and one 20-round mag), three grip modules, three backstraps, an armorer's tool, and the manual. Our review model also came with a Trijicon RMR and a SureFire X300 Ultra weapon light, plus a light-bearing kydex holster.

Upon closer inspection, the first thing we noticed about the Echelon was its sleek design. Springfield built a good-looking pistol with clean lines and no wasted space. The low-profile controls are tactile yet unobtrusive and the slide serrations are rugged but not overly aggressive.

Ergonomics are amazing and the stippling offers just the right amount of grit to achieve a strong master grip, even in adverse conditions or when wearing gloves. And most importantly, the trigger is light and smooth with a reasonably short reset.

Putting The Echelon To The Test

With the Echelon, Springfield Armory wanted to appeal to law enforcement as well as the civillian concealed carry market. Reliability and performance are paramount when designing a duty pistol, so it was important that the Echelon function flawlessly even when run hard in less-than-ideal shooting environments. In our opinion, Springfield achieved all they set out to do and more.

Clint, Kaya, and Sara each had the opportunity to fire the Echelon at the range. Watch our video to learn more about the Springfield Armory Echelon pistol and see how it performs!
