The Wonderfully Weird PT Pindad SS Amphibious
Indonesian firearms manufacturer PT Pindad has conducted years of research and development to bring us the SS Amphibious, a 10.5" barrel pistol chambered in 5.56 NATO that allows shooters to seamlessly transition from dry to amphibious environments without switching to a designated underwater platform.
This is accomplished by utilizing a specially engineered gas system that is optimized for underwater use, as well as mission-specific 5.56 NATO ammunition for shooting while submerged. Going from land to water is as simple as swapping magazines.

First Impressions
Despite being something of an odd duck amongst the typical AR-style fare at SHOT Show 2024, PT Pindad's SS Amphibious left us pleasantly surprised. It's a novel design with plenty of promise, not only for military and law enforcement applications but also as a civilian home defense or truck gun in locations dotted with large bodies of water.
