Smith & Wesson's M&P 15 Sport III

What's New With The M&P 15 Sport III?

The most noticeable change Smith & Wesson introduced with the M&P Sport 15 Sport III is the 15-inch free float M-LOK handguard, allowing for hassle-free installation of optics and accessories with affecting accuracy. Additionally, a full-length Picatinny top rail enables you to attach your favorite electronic sight, LPVO, or red dot / magnifier combo in the optimal position.

Compared to previous M&P 15 models, the Sport III rifle is both lighter and more versatile than its predecessors. It utilizes a standard mil-spec fire control unit with a right-handed safety / selector switch, all housed in an aluminum frame. The 16-inch barrel is constructed from 4140 steel and sports an Armornite finish, offering a solid balance of strength and durability.

More Than Meets The Eye

The M&P Sport III also features a mid-length gas system for reduced felt recoil and a chromed firing pin for enhanced reliability. As a result, this rifle not only handles extremely well, but is also an absolute pleasure to shoot - whether you're an experienced enthusiast or a first-time gun owner.

The Perfect Foundation For Your AR-15 Build

Despite the lack of ambidextrous controls or sights, the Smith & Wesson M&P 15 Sport III offers an incredibly solid foundation upon which to build. The A2-style adjustable stock and pistol grip are easily swapped for your preferred aftermarket furniture, and the rifle itself is already configured to accept most Picatinny and M-LOK accessories available in 2024.

This budget-friendly AR-15 is an excellent choice for sport shooting, home defense, and duty use alike. You can keep it practical, only adding sights and a tactical light, or you could completely kit it out with a foregrip, pressure switch, muzzle device, and a magnified optic, Whatever your mission, the M&P 15 Sport III is ready to answer the call.
