Hey everybody. Clint here with Classic Firearms. Out here today, coming at you guys with a video highlighting or spotlighting a manufacturer, Springfield Armory, a company that's been around since the mid 1970s. The name has been around since the 1770s, however, but let's go ahead and actually talk about that really quick before we start getting into today's Springfield Armory. Because today's Springfield Armory is not the same Springfield Armory that was the primary manufacturer of the United States military firearms since 1777. They actually closed their doors in 1968. And Springfield Armory started up in 1974 carrying on the name and they started off by making civilian versions of the classic M14 and that's the M1A.

The M1A

And me being, I've had a few M1As. They're fun guns. I have to admit, guys, I am a fan of the M14, right? I'm also a fan of an FAL and AR15 and AKs. So, I mean, the list goes on to what I'm a fan of that you guys already know. But I know the M1A, M14 receives I'm going to say a lot of criticism, right? Because when you think about the operating system of the M14 that we're talking about, and when it came into its role, a lot of people were kind of like, "Why would we do that?" It seems so, I don't know. Not ahead of its time for its time, right? It seemed like we were pretty much using old technology. Like for instance, DM1 Garand, everybody loves the M1 Garand for its time period. However, we don't need that same operating system when we're rolling into the Vietnam War type of thing, and the M16 came about and kind of replaced it. But anyway, all that aside, you guys can leave your comments down in the comment section about your love or hate for the M14 and how we may have, or may have not missed out with the FAL. I don't know. I'll let you guys handle that down in the comment section. Me personally, I am a fan of the M1 and M14. I think they shoot great. They're a lot of fun to shoot. And this one specifically is the SOCOM 16, so this does have the synthetic stock on it. Nice and weatherproof, things like that. And this one does have the 16 inch barrel, more of a comp instead of that flash hider that you typically see on M1As and 14s, right? No bayonet lugs on these guys. But overall really cool guns. I am a fan. And then also too, you'll notice the Picatinny rail a little bit just ahead of the receiver, but still mounted on top of the barrel or just above the barrel. And a lot of people look at that, and I remember when I first saw these, when I was younger, I was like, "Man, why would you want a rail out that far ahead of the receiver?" Kind of like some AKA's, why would I... You can't put a scope on that, right? Yes, you can. There are long eye relief scopes that you can actually put on your SOCOM 16 models, if that's what you want to do. And then some people might like the shorter barrel and go with something for a little bit closer, like maybe a red dot or holographics, something along those lines. I've seen a lot of cool setups for the M1As, especially the SOCOM 16. Make sure you guys go Google image that, there's some pretty neat stuff out there.

Springfield Armory

So Springfield Armory being around since 1974, opening its doors by making civilian variants of the M14. They've also made pistols. Now a lot of their... They are a US manufacturer and importer, so a lot of their pistols are actually imported from Croatia, like the Springfield XD. I like the XD. I do like shooting these guns. To me personally, I think they look a little blocky. But when you get it in your hand you're actually aimed on the sights, you're like, "Oh, it's actually kind of comfortable and ergonomic. All right, I see what you did there." So, but not bad guns. My actually very first pistol purchase was a Springfield XD 45. And since then, I've added a lot to my collection and I got to tell you guys, it's always run pretty well for me. I like them. They shoot well. You know, it is what it is. This right here is the XD9 Sub-Compact, got a nice extended magazine on it. Pretty cool extended base plate, so you don't get that pinky overhang that I don't like. Now, if you go with a flat, I guess you could say a flat faced or a flat base plate magazine, you might get that piggy overhang. But with the extendo on there, you're all set and ready to go. Pretty cool, right? And also too, they recently, when I say recently I mean within the last year or two, announced the Hellcat series. And if you were an influencer or social media, everybody got a Hellcat. Apparently I missed out. But no, everybody got a Hellcat. This little tiny guy right here. Now these are actually pretty cool guns, and if you're looking for a new concealed carry gun and you want to have as low profile as possible, maybe check out the Springfield Hellcat.

Springfield Hellcat

This one here, we've got in the dark earth color, which I liked quite a bit. It is a nine millimeter pistol and does have a nice front night side on it. And then you can see that U shape rear sight. So it's got a very easy to pick up sight picture on it. Great for close range, obviously. And then you've got an 11-round magazine in this guy here, 11 rounds and a double stack mag of nine millimeter. For a carry gun, that is pretty cool actually. So, forward serrations, which I'm also a huge fan of. And this one is also being imported into the United States, of course, by Springfield Armory from Croatia. But these guns shoot well. I've had plenty of experience with it now and I like the way they handle now. Something that's Springfield Armory did in late 2016, it was announced that they were going to start making AR15s. And initially it was mostly well received, but a lot of people were kind of like the AR market is already so saturated, why in the world would you start making AR15s. Fast forward to 2020, now 2021, yay, I guess, we need more manufacturers producing and making quality AR15s. Thankfully Springfield Armory is making their Saint line of ARs, like what you see right here. This is one of their first runs of the Springfield Armory Saint. This is the mid length gas system with their BCM furniture. And I got to tell you guys, this is actually a really fun gun to shoot.

Springfield Armory Saint Victor Lightweight AR-10

The reliable Springfield is making these very well here in the US and they just work. And for an affordable option, I think this is a great option for first-time AR buyers, or if you're just looking to add another one to the collection, because why the heck not? I would definitely check out the Springfield Saint line. And like I said, now we just need more people making ARs and gun parts and everything else we can get our hands on because this market is nuts. But hey, it is what it is. Spread that second amendment joy, all right. Now Springfield and the Saint line's actually introduced another line to the Saint line, which how many times can I say line, which is their Victor line. And this one here is a little bit more high end, I guess you could say a little bit more of their competition ready type of firearms. And this one specifically is a 308 AR pistol and it's heavy. Let me tell you what, this thing does have a heavy barrel on it but that allows you to keep running and running and running with it and just shooting for however long you want. Now, this does come with the SBA3 brace on it, which is very nice, adjustable length of pull, very cool. QD sling swivel or QD mount, I should say, right here in the back on the rear plate. Easy to throw safety. Again, just the quality behind their Saint lines and especially the Victor line is just really nice. You've got the full length MLOK rail on it. It's a very slim rail, so if you wanted to get that complete C clamp type grip on it, you can. Does come optics ready, meaning it doesn't ship with sights but that's all right. Overall, I'm really happy with Springfield and what they've been doing here recently with their different pistols, firearms, things like that.

Roundoff

And the M1A, going back to it one more time. There's so many different variants of that guy. Same thing with some of their pistols, like the Springfield 1911 tactical response pistol operator. Yeah, that's a long name, TRP operator. That thing is gorgeous, also heavy, but that allows you just to continue shooting it. I mean, it's a work gun. It's a duty gun, for sure, right? But let me know your thoughts and comments down in the comment section below about Springfield Armory. What's your favorite Springfield firearm, whether it be rifle, pistol, pistol braced AR, whatever it might be. You guys let me know down in the comment section. And speaking of all these pistols and braces and things, have you seen our latest giveaway? Giveaways, actually one winner, two guns. We're giving away a Colt Python because why the heck not, six inch barrel on it, 357 Magnum and the SIG Copperhead MPX. This little package is an awesome little pistol caliber carbine. Does come with the SIG brace on it, as you can see right here, Vortex UH1 holographic optic. I know, the optic is about as big as the gun, but for a sight picture and everything, it looks really good, and it also feels good to shoot with this setup here. I am a huge fan of this gun and the Timmy trigger that's installed is phenomenal. Comes with one 20 round mag. This does have the four inch barrel on it. And in fact, let me just go ahead and show you that trigger. Check this guy out right here, flat face trigger. Let's just go ahead and apply all the pressure in the world because it's so heavy, such long travel get ready. That's it. That was sarcasm. And let's go ahead and show the reset on this guy. It's nice, right? And speaking of triggers, we have a new video out all about a couple of high end triggers. We feature this giveaway here, and we also talk about some Geissele triggers, but we also talk about a new standalone unit, a drop-in trigger by Brigade Manufacturing. Yes, the same Brigade that brought you the BM9 and its series of firearms, has now a trigger that is pretty freaking awesome. I've installed it into my Cult AR to give it a couple of shots and see how I like it and I'm a fan. So check that video out, get your entries in for the SIG Copperhead and the Colt Python at ClassicFirearms.com. That's where you can get them. You'll see a banner up top featuring both of these firearms and probably my goofy self. Click on that banner. It's going to show you all the different ways to get your entries. One of those ways is a code word. The code word for those giveaways, since we're giving away a Python and a Copperhead is snakes. That's clever, right? Ryan came up with that. Snakes is what our code word is, and don't forget to refer your friends and family using your referral link. That gets you like almost a thousand entries, like 900 or something like that. So, make sure you're using that, if your friends and family aren't using your referral links, go to the range, make some new friends easy day, right? All right, I'll leave it off there again. If you're in the market for a new AR I would definitely say check out the Saint and Saint Victor lines from Springfield Armory. If you want to go old school cool, of course, the M1A is always an option, right? And then even some concealed carry or everyday carry firearms, they've got with their XD line, their 1911 series and also the Hellcat series. So check all of those out, guys.
