The final gun in our Bolt Gun Builds series had to be something unique, capable of delivering ultimate accuracy at great distances while enhancing the shooter's natural abilities. After considering various high-end precision rifles, we landed on the Azrael PRS from U.S. Arms Co. It exceeded our expectations in every way and our time on the scope was some of the best shooting we've ever done, which is a further testament to the quality of this superb firearm.
U.S. Arms Co is widely regarded as one of the country's preeminent manufacturers of precision firearms and their Azrael PRS 6.5 Creedmoor bolt action rifle is the crème de la crème. Every component is carefully selected to ensure optimal performance so that pulling the trigger is an afterthought. Here's what we ran on our build.
The Azrael PRS is lightweight yet incredibly tough, capable of delivering insanely accurate shots even under adverse conditions. Moreover, this configuration of the Azrael platform features a number of upgrades, including a proprietary receiver and a JAE-700 G4 chasis, that set this rifle apart from other high-end bolt guns on the market.
Because the Azrael PRS is a top-tier rifle, the Classic Firearms team decked it out with the finest optics and accessories available. This allowed us to fully appreciate the precision and quality craftsmanship that goes into each Azrael PRS rifle.
The EOTech Vudu is engineered for long-range precision shooting, with myriad enhancements to aid the user in making quick and accurate adjustments on the fly. Additionally, the short design allows for the attachment of a clip-on night vision optic in front without obstructing the scope's controls.
Note: For the night shoot, we installed an AGM Rattler TC50-640 Compact Thermal Imaging Clip-On.
Developed for competitive shooters, the versatile MDT Ckye-Pod features three locking positions and allows for simple, intuitive one-handed adjustments. It can pan 360 degrees and is compatible with Arca and Picatinny rails.
Kaya ran the Azrael PRS for our shoot and it performed flawlessly, easily achieving a tighter grouping than the Aero Precision SOLUS Competition. During the competition stage of the series, Kaya was able to hit all his shots in rapid succession - even smoking a diet soda can at 100 yards on his first try.
Unsurprisingly, the Azrael PRS outperformed and completely outclassed all the bolt guns in our series. It is truly in a league of its own and is one of those rifles that could make even a novice shooter look like a pro competitor on the range.
