The Aero Precision SOLUS Competition - A True Marksman's Rifle
As the name suggests, Aero Precision's SOLUS Competition rifle is the ideal precision shooting platform for long-range competitions. It delivers incredible accuracy from a short action system paired with a match-grade barrel, all secured within Aero's modular SOLUS Competition chassis for optimal performance at great distances. We opted for the version chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor, although it may also be purchased in .308 Win.

The manufacturer guarantees sub-MOA precision right out of the box and from our time on the scope, this rifle did not disappoint. It was an absolute pleasure to shoot and with its many excellent features, we almost felt it was unfair to compare it to the Savage Axis II XP and the Bergara B-14 HMR Carbon. Almost.
Optics & Accessories
We thought a high-quality firearm deserved the best high-quality accessories we could find, so we spared no expense in selecting the best scope and scope mount, bipod, and other accessories to further enhance this already incredible precision rifle.
Scope
Powerful yet lightweight, the Leupold Mark 5HD 3.6-18x44mm M5C3 FFP scope is a performance optic with excellent ergonomics and a high-speed throw lever for fast, accurate shooting. The Mark 5HD was the perfect pairing to unlock the full potential of the SOLUS Competition at long range.
Note: For the night shoot, we mounted a Neith DS23-4MP night vision scope.

Bipod
The Warne Precision Skyline is an innovative, Arca-compatible bipod with tons of great features. Most notably, this model allows for easy one-handed adjustments and provides smooth cant - ideal for those less-than-optimal shooting positions.
Performance
The SOLUS Competition quickly became a top contender, delivering the best accuracy of any other bolt gun in our series thus far. As a further testament to the quality of this build, Ryan's first two shots landed right on top of each other for one of the tightest groupings of the entire shoot.
Ryan later engaged long-range targets with tremendous effect, utilizing his predetermined holdovers to secure hits with just one or two rounds. Some quick adjustments on the scope may have helped him achieve an even faster time but at the conclusion of the first course of fire, the SOLUS Competition was a clear winner.
