Polish PM-63C RAK Semi-Auto Pistol 9x18 Caliber Pistol Package. This SKU comes with (1) 15 round magazine & (1) 25 round magazine. Manufactured by Pioneer Arms Radom Poland - Imported and Warrantied by Pioneer Arms U.S.A. The PM63's Polish abbreviation “RAK” stands for “Commandos Hand-held Automatic” pistol. It is a relatively light and compact firearm originally issued as a select-fire pistol intended for close-quarters combat. It was significantly lighter and smaller than the contemporary Heckler & Koch MP5. The PM-63 is well balanced and can be fired from one hand, just like ordinary pistols. A unique feature of this pistol is the slide that protrudes in front of the barrel. This allows the pistol to be cocked in a traditional way, or simply by sticking the protrusion into hard objects, such as walls, desktops, etc... so the shooter can easily cock the weapon single-handedly. The protrusion also acts as a compensator, which deflects some of the gases upwards and reduces muzzle climb. Note 5/10/2020 - This Is A New Group Of PM-63C's and The Deal On This Pistol Is Now Different Than How We Originally Sold Them See extended description for Full Details.
* Note - Right off the bat let's address the difference in this new deal on these pistols as opposed to the way we use to sell them in the past. We have been out of these pistols now for several months and in the interim, a couple of changes have occurred. The good news is that we were able to purchase this current group of pistols at a significantly lower price point than our previous group PM-63's and because of that, we are able to pass the savings on to you. There are two primary reasons for this price reduction, one has to do with the manufacturing process ( which we will address further below ) and one has to do with a reduction in accessory items that originally shipped with the pistol, which we will address here.We previously sold these pistols along with a shooter's package that included an original holster. That item no longer comes to us with the pistols. We think the price reduction justifies the loss of the extra goods, but those extra accessories did add significant value, so we did want to make this perfectly clear in regard to new purchases to avoid any confusion with our previous offer. While there does seem to be some availability in additional magazines, we are told that there are simply no more of the original holsters to be had. Therefore these pistols will now simply ship in a cardboard box with (1) 15 round magazine & (1) 25 round magazine. In addition to that, this particular lot of pistols features the new Gen II receivers. They are virtually identical to the receivers on our previous small lot of PM-63C's however, unlike the original group of receivers on our earlier guns, these receivers were manufactured utilizing new, more modern, and more highly mechanized production methods. This allowed for a more economical production cost on the receiver while still retaining all of the tough-as-nails quality of the original. Now, about the pistol. The Polish PM-63C Semi-Auto Pistol 9x18 Caliber Pistol With (1) 15-round magazine & (1) 25-round magazine. Manufactured by Pioneer Arms Radom Poland - Imported and Warrantied by Pioneer Arms U.S.A. The PM63 pistol was designed by the same man who designed before WWII famous RADOM 9 mm VIS pistol. The unique design feature of the PM-63 is that instead of a normal internal bolt a slide is fitted. The “Sexy," eye-catching design was created in Poland a full twenty years before the development of the PDW in the West making this a very historic and collectible design. The Polish abbreviation “RAK” stands for “Commandos Hand-held Automatic” pistol. In the original military configuration, these pistols were select-fire but this variation comes as an ATF-approved semi-automatic version. Still, knowing the history of these is really cool so see some links attached to review and learn about the fine history of this firearm. Also, see the image of an actual PM-63 laying on the desk of former PLO leader Yasser Arafat. A history of the pistol. The PM-63 RAK (short for Reczny Automat Komandosow- "Commandos' Hand-held Automatic") is a Polish 9x18 mm submachine gun, designed by Piotr Wilniewczyc (DESIGNER OF FAMOS 9 mm VIS PISTOL) in cooperation with Tadeusz Bednarski, Grzegorz Czubak and Marian Wakalski. The RAK combines the characteristics of a self-loading pistol and a fully automatic submachine gun. It is in effect an early personal defense weapon. Development of the RAK dates back to the late 1950s when the concept was first proposed at the Warsaw University of Technology in response to a requirement for a light hand-held defensive weapon for rear-echelon soldiers such as gun crews and vehicle drivers. After the death of the chief designer Piotr Wilniewczyc in 1960, the submachine gun's development was completed by the state-operated Lucznik Arms Factory (ARCHER PLANT No. 11) in the city of Radom, where it was produced until 1977. The PM-63 was accepted into service with the Polish Army and Police in 1965 as the 9 mm submachine gun model in 1963.About the Semi-Auto version of this pistol that we are offering here. Today...Pioneer Arms, has redesigned this historical pistol to function as a semi-automatic firearm firing from the closed bolt position. Since the original receivers for these pistols were select-fire ( read full-auto ), in order for these pistols to be imported into the U.S., the original receivers had to be destroyed in Poland, and new semi-auto closed bolt receivers had to be manufactured from the ground up by Pioneer Arms. This particular lot of pistols feature the new Gen II receivers. Unlike the original group of receivers on our earlier guns, these receivers were manufactured utilizing new, more modern, more highly automated production methods. This allowed for a more economical production cost on the receiver, while still retaining all of the tough-as-nails quality of the original. Just like our previous batch, the safety is located at the left rear of the trigger guard. The receiver is made from machined steel on modernized CNC equipment for a high degree of consistency from gun to gun. The rear sight is an L-shaped flip type and is marked for 75 and 150 meters distance. The front sight is a fixed blade. The pistol is equipped with a simple muzzle compensator. This firearm is an ATF-approved pistol. The stock has no function and is permanently fixed in its folded closed position. This pistol is manufactured at the famed Radom Plant in Poland. All parts and components are Polish-made. Under this SKU the PM-63C pistol comes with one 15-round and one 25-round, magazine. Quantities of these are limited and there will only be a very limited qty of these pistols ever imported into the U.S.
