The Great Lakes Firearms GL15223TNG is a semi-automatic firearm with features designed for versatility and reliability. This model does not come with an ambidextrous safety. It sports a 16-inch, 1:8 twist heavy barrel (HBAR), fashioned from either 416rd Stainless Steel or 4150 Crmov Nitride, complete with 1/2 x 28 threads for adaptability.
It's compatible with the .223 Wylde caliber, allowing the firearm to efficiently shoot both .223 REM and 5.56 NATO. With M4 feed ramps, it ensures smooth feeding of bullets to the heart of the action. The frame is crafted from durable and lightweight 7075 Aluminum and sports a Cerakote finish for added resistance to wear and corrosion.
The gas system utilizes a 0.750 Gas Block (Black Oxide) and Carbine Gas Tube. It also features a standard Mil-spec Polymer grip for comfort and a 15.25 Aluminum 6061 full picatinny rail handguard for accessory mounting. The firearm has the capacity to hold 30 rounds in its magazine, and it comes with one magazine included.
Moreover, a muzzle brake is included and is designed to be tightened 6 degrees forward without the use of Loctite. Please note it doesn't include sights. It has a Mil-spec 5.5-6 lb pull trigger to provide the shooter with a consistent, crisp break. The upper part of the firearm is also made from robust 7075 Aluminum.
The overall length of the firearm is 33.25 inches, and it weighs only 6.8 lbs, making it a comfortable carry for both beginner and experienced users.
