The Great Lakes Firearms GL15223BCOP is a semi-automatic rifle with a polished finish. Its unique feature is the lack of an ambidextrous safety system. The rifle boasts a 16-inch heavy barrel (HBAR) with a 1:8 twist. It uses either 416rd stainless steel or 4150 Crmov Nitride and has 1/2 x 28 threads.
It utilizes a .223 Wylde caliber and can shoot both .223 REM and 5.56 NATO ammunition. Noteworthy to mention is the M4 feed ramps along with the Cerakote finish that adds to its durability and attractiveness. The frame material is Aluminum 7075, a reliable and sturdy material.
The gas system comes with a 0.750 Black Oxide Gas Block and a Carbine Gas Tube. The grip is Mil-spec Polymer, designed for comfort and a firm grasp. The handguard is a 15.25-inch Aluminium 6061 full Picatinny rail for accessory attachment.
This model features a 30-round magazine capacity and comes with one magazine included. There's a muzzle brake designed to be wrench tightened at 6 degrees forward, without the need for Loctite. However, this model does not include sights.
The trigger is Milspec with a pull weight of 5.5-6 lb. The upper is a 7075 Upper, adding to the standard point. The overall length of the rifle is 33.25 inches, with a manageable weight of 6.8 lbs.
