The Great Lakes Firearms GL15223BCHY is a semi-automatic firearm boasting a number of sophisticated features. Unlike many other models, this firearm does not have an ambidextrous safety. The barrel, a substantial 16-inch 1:8 Twist Heavy Barrel (HBAR), is available in either 416rd SS or 4150 Crmov Nitride with 1/2 x 28 threads.
The caliber of this model is .223 Wylde, enabling it to shoot both .223 REM and 5.56 NATO. Equipped with M4 feed ramps, it ensures fast and reliable loading. The firearm has a cerakote finish, giving it a robust and durable exterior.
Constructed with a 7075 aluminum frame, it has a 0.750 Gas Block (Black Oxide) and Carbine Gas Tube gas system. The grip is designed to mil-spec polymer standards for maximum comfort and control. The handguard is a 15.25 aluminum 6061 full Picatinny rail, providing various attachment points for accessories.
With a magazine capacity of 30 rounds, the package includes one magazine. This firearm comes with an included muzzle brake that is designed to be tightened 6 degrees forward without the need for Loctite. Please note, there are no sights included with this model.
The trigger is up to milspec standards with a 5.5-6 lb pull. The upper is made of strong 7075 aluminum. The overall length of the firearm is 33.25 inches and it weighs 6.8 lbs, making it a substantial yet manageable firearm for a variety of uses.
