This Firearm Will Be Posting In January 2025 - What a unique opportunity on a beautiful and very rare rifle. The Gewehr 43 or G43 Semi-Auto rifle was Germany's counterpart to the U.S. M1-Garand or Soviet SVT-40 Tokarev rifles. The Gewehr 43 was put into production by Walther in Germany in October 1943 and followed in 1944 by the Karabiner 43 (K43), which was identical to the G43 in every way except for the letter (K) stamped on the side. The name change from Gewehr to Karabiner (carbine) was due to the fact the barrel was actually two centimeters shorter than the standard Karabiner 98k and therefore the term Gewehr (meaning: rifle) was somewhat unfitting. Overall, regardless of the variation the rifle is still most commonly referred to as the G43 since there was no actual change to the rifle itself. However, this one does have the K stamping prominently marked on the receiver as you can see in the images. It is a 10 round, mag fed, semi-auto rifle with a 21.7" barrel. All German markings and Waffenampts are intact including a very clear war eagle as you can see in the images. It has a laminated stock, and the bluing is probably 90 %. Bore shows some use but is still shiny with nice lands and grooves so it should be an exceptional shooter. There are a couple of dents and digs on the stock and the bluing shows some wear particularly around the sharp edges, so I don't think this one has ever been refinished. All of that however is minor and only adds character so I do think this is just about as nice on an example of a German G43 that anyone will ever find. Serial # on the stock matches to the rifle. This rifle has been represented here through images and description with 100% accuracy as I know it and if you are not comfortable buying it based on this information Do Not Make the Purchase. All sales are final on this rifle. The back story. Over the last 30 plus years in the gun business I have acquired some really nice surplus firearms. These guns came from Gun Shows, private collections, and private individuals that I have met along the way, as well as, on occasion, what I would deem as the best of a particular lot when it came in here to Classic. Well, all good things must end and at this point in my life it is time to downsize a little and that includes letting go of some of these "Gun Safe Queens" that I have typically only pulled out to clean ever so often. Now don't get me wrong, there was a time when I would not have even considered giving up one of these firearms as they have been very special to me. However, my daughters show no interest in inheriting them, and I've decided that I would rather see them in the hands of folks that would relish them, than to have them to continue sit in a dark safe here at Classic. Each gun from my private collection is unique and they will sell individually by serial #, so when that gun is gone, it is gone and irreplaceable. At least from me. If you no longer see this rifle in inventory, you will know that it has sold.
