Introducing the brand new Fostech Stealth Lightning Series AR-15 Rifle. This rifle is one of the lightest, most accurate, high-quality AR-15 rifles on the market! Coming in at an amazing baseline rate of under 5.5 pounds, this rifle can be carried all day and still be tough as nails. The Stealth Lightning series features the highly coveted 16" Faxon Gunner Series barrel. The rifle is chambered in 5.56 Nato and the barrel is constructed of 4150CMV steel with a 1 in 8 twist rate which is ideal for stabilization over a wide array of bullet weights. The Stealth Lightning also features Fostech's proprietary lightweight upper and lower Billet receivers, a Fostech Low Mass Nickle Boron bolt carrier group, and the highly desirable Mach-2 13" lightweight M Lok compatible rail. This rifle maintains an ultra-trim profile but has ultra-high quality features which provide amazing strength and stability making it a workhorse capable of long days on the range. Fostech designed this rifle to hold up under even the heaviest combat conditions while still being an amazing work of art that anyone would be proud to own. This model is finished in a beautiful Tungsten Grey color scheme and completed with the world-famous Fostech Echo Sport trigger factory installed. Each rifle ships complete with a set of Flip-Up Sights ( the ones we looked at had Kriss sights which are very nice ), but sights may vary based on availability. Fostech makes firearms that stand apart from other manufacturers in a number of ways due to the unique ultra-light, yet ultra-strong materials that they utilize in their builds. Their position has always been that if you ever hold one, you will want to buy one. This is very evident at industry trade shows where the Fostech booth always has one of the longest lines with folks marveling at how they can fit so much beauty, strength, and quality into such a lightweight package. The Stealth Series is Fostech's premium line of rifles and pistols and is their latest entry into the ultra-high-end AR-platform product line. The Stealth Series rifles and pistols all utilize the latest generation Billet cut aluminum/magnesium alloy receivers which are not only the lightest but also the strongest alloy compounds used to date. Each Stealth Series firearm also features Anti-Walk Pins, a Low Profile Gas Block, Strake Muzzle Device, an MFT Minimalist 6 Position Stock, and Fostechs Exclusive Sabre Grip. The Lightning series rifles incorporate the 13" Mach 2 Ultralight rail as well as a Low Mass Nickle Boron Bolt carrier group, making this one of the lightest of all of the Fostech rifles. It is also important to note that this particular model incorporates the Echo Sport trigger rather than the Echo II. These are exceptionally nice rifles. About the Echo Sport Trigger - The Echo Sport Trigger from Fostech provides the same pull-and-release firing functionality of the original Fostech Echo AR-II Trigger, but the controls have been modified to eliminate the use of the 3rd safety selector position. Instead, a control paddle in front of the trigger guard moves side to side to select single fire or Echo firing modes. Same functionality, but at a significantly lower price! The Echo Sport Trigger allows the shooter to select from 3 different settings: Safe Mode: Firearm will not fire. - Semi-Automatic Mode: Firearm fires when the trigger is pulled. - Echo Mode: Firearm fires when the trigger is pulled and also when the trigger is released. The Echo Sport is different from Fostech’s Echo AR-II in that there’s an added paddle switch in front of the trigger to change firing modes from binary to standard semi-automatic firing instead of using the safety selector like the original Echo trigger. When the shooter is in the Echo Mode and depresses the trigger firing one round, the shooter can move the paddle to the semi position while firmly holding the trigger rearward and a second-round will not fire upon release.
