The Forster Products NTG257 - Neck Tension Gage (NTG) serves as an accurate and efficient screening tool, allowing you to assess the quality of a brass batch prior to the bullet seating process. The NTG equips reloaders with the essential data needed to generate precise neck tensions during bullet seating. The tool can be used immediately after case neck sizing and before bullet seating, acting as a guide to help determine the ideal inside neck diameter for consistent bullet release in your reloaded rounds.
Further, the NTG allows for an inspection of the inside diameters of case necks to ensure that a donut hasn't formed at the neck-shoulder junction. The Neck Tension Gage Inspection Tool comprises four ascending diameters, culminating at the handle. The value for each diameter is etched onto the metal tool itself.
The application of the tool is straightforward - simply insert the stepped end into the neck of your sized case, pushing it further until a specific diameter attains a slip fit in the case neck. You can then use this measured value to refine your case preparation.
