The adjustable Feather Trigger, which operates on a three-lever system, offers a neat, crisp action without any slack. The barrel's free-floating design achieved by bedding the action at both front and rear, enhances stability and upholds consistent accuracy by preserving the spacing between the barrel and the stock. The wisely recessed muzzle crown encapsulates the rifling, shielding it from potential harm.
The inclusion of a bolt unlock button working parallel to the top-tang safety provides an additional layer of safety. With a 60 degree bolt lift, the X-Bolt prioritises quick cycling, allowing for rapid operation of the bolt. The Hell's Canyon Max Long Range variant of the rifle is equipped with a high strength steel receiver, a heavy sporter contour barrel with a detachable muzzle brake, and a removable magazine.
