The Bergara BPR20-308MC BPR20308MC, part of the BERGARA PREMIER Series HMR PRO RIFLE range, is the ultimate Hunting & Match Rifle (HMR). A gray Cerakote coated barreled action is designed to fit Rem 700 bases using 8x40 screws. The rifle features a TriggerTech® trigger that uses Frictionless Release Technology™ to promote precision and reliability.
The stock of the rifle is black with gray flecking, injection molded for durability, and includes an adjustable cheek piece and Length Of Pull (LOP) spacers. It comes equipped with Quick Detach (QD) flush cup sling mounts and swivel mounts for versatile adjustments. The rifle boasts a full-length integrated mini-chassis and a threaded muzzle (5/8-24) with a knurled thread protector. It has a No. 5.5 barrel taper and comes with a 5-round Advanced Innovation and Manufacturing (AICS) style detachable magazine. The rifle’s total length is 39.5".
Characteristics common to the PREMIER Series include hand-building and accuracy qualification prior to shipment. Every rifle is guaranteed to produce sub-minute of angle (MOA) groups using factory ammunition. The Bergara Premier Action includes features such as a non-rotating gas shield, coned bolt nose, and sliding plate extractor. The bolt has 2 locking lugs located on its front head and a 90º bolt throw angle.
Constructed with a one-piece stainless steel bolt body, this rifle accepts a threaded-in bolt handle and includes a bayonet-style firing assembly. The barrels are Cerakote coated 416 Premium stainless steel from Bergara. Safety features include a 2-position safety mechanism that is a part of the trigger assembly allowing unloading while in the safe position, and a non-rotating gas shield located behind the bolt head protecting the shooter from gas and debris in the event of a case or primer rupture.
Think of our Premier Series as an extension of our Custom Series but with standardized features for greater efficiencies in parts production and assembly - providing near custom performance at prices that are affordable to serious shooters. Bergara's Premium 416 stainless steel barrels receive a proprietary honing process at our barrel-making facility in Bergara Spain. Then at the Bergara USA factory the barrel receives a Cerakote finish and is coupled with our proprietary Bergara Premier action featuring a nonrotating gas shield coned bolt nose and sliding plate extractor. - This action is designed as a two-lug system that features a separate floating bolt head to ensure contact with the lug abutments in the action. It also features a cone-shaped bolt nose for smooth feeding of the cartridge and a spring-loaded sliding plate extractor located in the front of the lower locking lug. The one-piece bolt body is stainless steel with a pad at the rear to accept the threaded-in bolt handle. The bolt head the non-rotating gas shield the bolt handle and bolt shroud are fully Nitrided for extreme durability as well as its self-lubricating properties. ?The two-position safety is part of the trigger assembly which in the HMR Pro rifle is a TriggerTech Frictionless Release Technology trigger. One great feature of this combination allows the bolt handle not to lock in the closed position which in turn allows the rifle to be unloaded while in the safe position. It supports a fully free-floated barrel.
