The Barrett 18488 MRAD is a meticulously designed firearm that prioritizes precision and modularity. It performs excellently whether used on the shooting range or for duty. Constructed from 7000-series aluminum, its monolithic upper receiver includes a full-length M1913 Picatinny top rail with an inbuilt taper, ensuring long-range precision. The handguard, having mounting slots at 3, 6, and 9 o'clock, provides a sturdy and flexible interface for the attachment of rails, electro-optics, and other accessories.
This versatile weapon features a user-changeable barrel system, allowing quick and easy conversion to any of the 8 different calibers or various barrel lengths. This can be achieved by merely loosening two bolts using a standard Torx wrench. There is no need for a gunsmith. The MRAD houses a fully adjustable match-grade trigger module within the lower receiver, enabling the user to customize their ideal pull effortlessly.
Further adding to its convenience, the MRAD stock is designed to fold on the right side, significantly reducing its width for a compact footprint and easy transportation. When unfolded, the stock securely locks in place, providing stability comparable to a fixed-stock rifle. With tool-less length of pull and cheek piece height adjustment, the MRAD can be easily adjusted to comfortably fit users of varied shapes and sizes.
The MRAD presents excellent user-friendly features including an ambidextrous paddle-style magazine release, a left/right swappable thumb safety, and AR15/M16 pistol grips. This makes the MRAD an ideal choice for both right and left-handed shooters.
