This pistol from Altor Corps has to be one of the most intriguing things I have seen this year. I will admit before I got my hands on one, I was skeptical, but this thing is incredible! Altor Corps has designed this single-shot pistol to be rugged, reliable, affordable, and straightforward. The motto is "Perfectly Simple and Simply Perfect."
This model features a 2.9" barrel that is precision CNC machined from 416R stainless steel, making it incredibly robust. The lock-up on the barrel is tight, and the length is adequate for a self-defense handgun or survival pistol. The barrel can be twisted 0.25" to put the firearm into "safe" or "fire," which is extremely easy to see by the bold lettering, which adheres to the overall simplicity of the pistol. Moving back, the receiver has a fixed 2-lug extension that has grooves for the barrel to twist onto joining it with the frame. A raised slot on the face of the receiver is the shell holder. Loading is as simple as slipping in a cartridge from the top of the groove, and the shell will stay in place, allowing you to twist on the barrel.
The compact frame is molded from a reinforced mixture of fiberglass and polymer, which makes this model incredibly tough and ready for anything you can throw at it. The grip is slightly textured to be non-slip, and a cross-bolt safety prevents the trigger from cycling. The firing mechanism in this pistol is also incredibly simple and consists of just two components. A stainless steel spring powers the firing pin which fires the gun from a pull and release style...simply pull the trigger back and let go!
I believe this handgun is the ultimate backpacking or survival companion with its simple design and the minimal amount of working parts. This thing is built like a rock, and the simple operation means that practically anyone can use it. Whether you leave this in a bugout bag or take it camping, this pistol is sure to serve you well for years to come!
